Applying for a treatment
How does the treatment application work?
We are happy to assist you with how and where to apply for your rehabilitation stay:
1. Parksanatorium ( The Clinic)

The Parksanatorium is approved for inpatient rehabilitation treatments covered by public health insurance.

Specialized treatments are provided according to a physician's treatment plan. The clinic has the necessary facilities and specially trained therapists for these treatments. It does not have a contractual agreement with any social security provider.

2. The doctor

It is the responsibility of your treating physician to certify the urgency of a rehabilitation program. Depending on the severity of your condition, your doctor will recommend either outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation. Both types of rehabilitation typically last three weeks.

Those eligible for reimbursement should contact their reimbursement office.

3. Who pays the costs?

You can always go to a health resort at your own expense. If the stay is medically necessary, within the structured system of our social security and according to civil service regulations, it is still possible to have the costs fully or partially reimbursed by one of the responsible agencies.

The responsible agency is:
  1. for those with health insurance, as well as generally for pensioners, homemakers, and children who are insured themselves or as family members = statutory health insurance fund,
  2. for public sector employees = the supplementary benefits office.
4. Legal restrictions
For statutory benefit providers, a repeat course of treatment can only be approved after three years, unless an earlier repeat course or treatment due to another illness is urgently required for medical reasons.
5. Prescriptions
If you are not approved for a spa treatment, you can have your family doctor or orthopedist prescribe a prescription for physical therapy treatments.
6. Inpatient rehabilitation
The treatments last at least three weeks, may initially be approved for a longer period, or can be extended as needed. The on-site spa physicians prescribe the treatments for inpatient stays, as the progress of the treatment and the therapeutic measures are monitored at least once a week.
